Fill your boots… or maybe just your bottles

The twitter network works! Last Thursday I found out on twitter that the latest addition to Auckland’s craft beer scene had finally opened. The place I’m talking about is Hopscotch Beer Company.

Hopscotch has recently obtained their license to sell alcohol and are now selling a great range of beer on fill-your-own taps. I made some excuses to get away from work and raced over to check it out. When I went in they had beers from Epic, Croucher, Mike’s, Hallertau, West Coast Brewing as well as some from the far off shores of the US; like Green Flash and Ballast Point.

The guys at Hopscotch are smack dab in the middle of fitting out the warehouse, but owner, Hugh Grierson, has his priorities right; the beers are already on sale and the moment somebody comes in he’s quick to drop his hammer and offer up a taste from one of the taps. With twelve beers available on tap at any time there’s plenty of choice and it’s reasonably priced too.

Pop in and see Hugh, I’m sure he’ll be more than willing to share a beer with you and sort you out with a refill of your growler.

Hopscotch is situated at 2/2 Shaddock St, Eden Terrace, Auckland (not far from Galbraith’s)
Hugh took a break from cleaning to serve us up some tasty beers from Ballast Point

I dropped in again last week and Hopscotch is now stocking a range of whisky’s now as well. I picked up a bottle of Croucher’s Galaxy which he currently has on, that was very good too
