Volume Markers for Your Home Brew Kettles

Finally got around to making some volume markers on our boil kettle on the weekend.

One of the boys had shared this post they found about making permanent etchings on stainless steel. The process uses everyday items that you will probably have hanging around your home and as the post says the hardest part really is the masking off.

Our kit has a site tube but this sure beats measuring it with a ruler every time.

I can’t stress enough how important it is to double check your measurements, bear in mind that it is permanent, so you can’t correct it.

I also saw on another version of that post that you can use different vinegar to achieve different colouring in the etching eg. balsamic vinegar results in a darker etching.
